Amelia Bakes

Also could be called 'hornblower's butt grows'.

Amelia bakes a lot (not alot, I hasten to clarify; baked alot might be nice but we're vegetarian) and I feel, as her parent, mentor, and teacher, that I should sample everything liberally, in order to express my support & provide constructive criticism (such as, would be better if you made two at a time so we don't run out by 4pm)

Mercifully, my mom gave her a low fat baking recipe book for Christmas.

An lo - Spiced Apple Cake.

Apparently only 11.4g of fat in a generous 1/8 slice of this yummy deliciousness.

I'll be posting more pix of her baking creations soon & you too will realize why you should not only let your kids play in the kitchen & 'help' you when they're young, but why you should downright insist on it (while giving them choices, of course, in the proper modern parenting style). "I don't care if you want to memorize those math facts and finish the grammar worksheet, Johnny! Your choice is to stir the sauce or blend the pastry.  Or you can go hungry tonight!"

With enough gentle encouragement, you not only end up with kids who can feed themselves, they can feed you too. Now that's being a smart Tiger mom.

That looks gorgeous - like it was professionally done. Unfortunately, I don't like nuts, and I think I see some on the top.. but it still looks delicious!

Holy green cake!

I looked at this on my other computer & the pic made the cake look green!

Yes, there are nuts :-) I love nuts. EXCEPT peanuts. Which are not nuts at all, & that explains it all. LOL

She's got a new lowfat chocolate & banana cake which is nut free though; it's what we had tonight! This recipe book is coming up with some real winners.
