And then hear the unofficial anthem here (complete with cameo by William Shatner)

And, in response to a TAG (hi Meretta!),
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Go to Wikipedia.
2. In the Search box, type your birth month and day (but not year).
3. List three events that happened on your birthday.
4. List two important birthdays and one interesting death.
5. One holiday or observance (if any).
6. Tag 5 more people - if ya feel like it.
Here's mine:
events:
1496 - Leonardo da Vinci unsuccessfully tests a flying machine
1924 - English explorer Howard Carter discovers the sarcophagus of Tutankhamen in the Valley of the Kings, near Luxor, Egypt
1999 - The Mars Polar Lander launches
births: (important? hmmm)
106 BC - Cicero, Roman statesman and philosopher (d. 43 BC) (I'm a classical homeschooler after all)
1956 - Mel Gibson, Australian actor and director (but also a woman)
death: (interesting? what death is interesting? or what death isn't interesting? what kind of a qualifier is that?)
1967 - Jack Ruby, American killer of Lee Harvey Oswald (b. 1911) (interesting for his enduring contribution to conspiracy theory)
holiday:
Roman Empire - Festival in honour of Pax (how can one not like the festival for the goddess of peace? Much better than the Feast of St. Genevieve who liked to punish herself a little too much for my taste.)

Thanks for playing!
Off to check your links...
Have a great week!
Oh, you have had quite a week of it, haven't you? I say let's incorporate a Roman Feast with a good painting party and we'll just finish up everybody's trimwork and a bottle or two of something tasty.
Hope you are healing well, and that things are running smoothly aboard HMS Indefatigable.
