melting

It's 35C in the shade.
A marginally better 31C in the house upstairs and a positively nipple puckering 25C downstairs. Current favourite activities: drinking icy beverages and eating ice cream. Oh yeah, and sleeping. I've gone back to bed once today already.

I am wearing my own personal climate control system: take a teatowel, wet with cold water, wring out, place cup of ice in the center, roll up & wear on neck.
Daisy the dog & Rachel the cat have their own tied around their necks.

It was 29.5 in the kitchen last night at 11 pm, after the sun went down, and that was without being at home to prepare either lunch or dinner.

I'm keeping all the windows and curtains (where we have them) closed, opening them only when the sun goes down.

I'd hide out in the house more if my garden wasn't shriveling. Mostly I'm watering with the hose in one hand a a Creamsicle in the other, but I had to come in for a bit of a break...

Stay cool!

Oh, you have my heartfelt sympathies! A blender filled with ice and topped off with orange juice makes a most refreshing treat! :-) Hang in there.

Love the cool towel. Here, many people wet a handkerchief and put it in their hat or tie it around their neck. Your icy towel is much cooler.

Liberal amounts of sweet iced tea with mint is the Southern ladies trick. We drink quarts a day.

Heat really saps your energy. Maybe it will be cooler this week.
