ooopsie

This was supposed to be a homeschooling week. In our current rotation of 2 weeks on, 1 week off, this was week 2 of ON.

Instead, it was a week off. At this rate, we will be on a schedule more in line with Hugo's suggestion - 2 weeks off, 1 week on. Ummm, no, I don't think so, dear.

Monday - the flood
Tuesday - I don't know. Aliens must have abducted me because I have NO memory of that day.
Wednesday - Ikea. I now live less than 10 minutes drive away from Ikea. And I had a little shopping list for things for Amelia's room, including a bookcase and a quilt cover.
Thursday - beach day. If I had been really organized and on the ball, we might have been able to sneak school in in the morning. But I was neither. I was so not organized and so not on the ball that we barely made it to the beach by 1 pm to meet our friends. Much rushing around, much wailing and gnashing of teeth, and comments such as "THINK! You're going to the beach! Don't you think you might just need a, oh, I don't know, say a TOWEL???!!!" Yes, I turn into a snarky sarcastic cow at the drop of a hat.
Friday - well. Yes. It's only 9:34. Technically salvageable. But somehow, I don't think so.

OK. So no school this week. But the kids have learned & read & watched & played & thought & laughed & swam in the ocean. And also squabbled, cried, & hit. Just another well rounded week.

Call the beach a field trip.
