This whole week has been all weird because we still haven't really switched our internal clocks. We're all up way too late at night and then struggling to get anything done in the mornings. Granted it's nice to have it brighter in the evenings but I'm not sure all this upheaval is worth it.
The kids began a new set of clay classes yesterday afternoon. The classes are at the Port Moody Arts Center and are fabulous. The level of instruction is superb and the people there really like working with kids. I like this class because both kids are in the same one. It's so rare to find something they can both do at the same time. I usually bring work or a book and just sit in the car and enjoy 2 hours of quiet. It wasn't so fun yesterday because it was so darn cold and rainy. During the last set of classes, I remember sitting with the sunroof open and basking in sunshine. Yesterday I kept having to turn on the engine to warm up and wishing I'd brought a thermos of hot tea.
All this turning on of the engine was guilting me out because I had just read the big one page ad on the Canadian government's program to reduce global warming, and taking the One Tonne Challenge. Wouldn't you know, one of the admonishments was about idling cars. The ad was on the back of Homeschooling Horizons and it caught the kids' attention because it had a photo of Rick Mercer, and they're becoming Monday Report addicts. A especially loves Rick and his rants.
