Yes, you definitely need a new roof. It’s not a good thing to pass off such, even if you can provide a temporary solution to those leaks. You can prevent the water from flooding your home via the roof, but you can’t keep the damage from getting worse. How’s your roof now?
It’s been more than a year now. I assume the roof is fixed already. However, if you still haven’t had it fixed, then there must be a greater damage on your roof because of the leakage. :(
