Owl is found!

This is Owl: a Gund classic owl.

We got him for Hugo waaaay back; I think it was for his 2nd birthday. Hugo named him.

Owls were Hugo's favourite bird. When I would take the kids to the Reifel Bird Sanctuary Hugo always wanted to see the owls. You actually can get a glimpse of an owl there once in a while, but honestly, seeing one in the daylight is pretty rare. Didn't matter to Hugo. He was happy to just go there and look up in the trees and hope for a glimpse.

The stuffy Owl has been to Hawaii, to Mexico, and camping. He's been a good traveller and well loved ..... but Owl had been 'missing' for ages. Ages and ages. Every once in a while - usually when cleaning Hugo's room and dusting off the stuffies - one of us would say I wonder where Owl has gone. Nobody knew where he was. I'd done some small searches, sorting through boxes of old toys, digging through the back of cupboards. And in the back of my mind there was a small nagging worry that maybe Owl had flown the coop for good.

Today Hugo got down a bag containing some of his rockets and inside was Owl. Turns out that the last time Hugo was launching rockets, Owl was selected for astronaut duty. He'd been lying there, strapped to a little parachute, for months.

Welcome back Owl.

Owl looks about the same as one of the dog stuffies that lived in the garden all winter. I bet he'll look better after a brush:)
It's always great when you find something you are sure is gone forever! I bet Hugo's happy:)

Owl was always a weird tufty guy, not a traditional plush. I think it was meant to look a bit like feathers? He does need a wash & a fluffing.

It sure is nice to find things! I even found the jeans I thought I'd put in the charity bin! Whew - I can put off shopping once again LOL
