Yes, it was pouring and sunny here on Saturday. Rachel the cat stomped outside to enjoy the sunshine and was more than a little perplexed by the rain. She stuck to the side of the house where the eaves offered some protection.

Ultimately, Daisy and Rachel both decided it was nice enough for a lie down.

Rain on sunny days is actually quite common here, as is the phenomenon of rain in backyard and sunshine in the front yard. I always thought the CCR song was actually about that - about rain on sunny days. But if you go online, some people think it's about drugs. Or Tom Foggerty leaving. Or both. Or the Vietnam War. Um, ok.


The weather is ticking me off actually. Yesterday it was warm enough that there was talk of getting the patio furniture out of storage. (just talk, because talk is big and actually getting the furniture out and rubbing it down with teak oil is a pita)

This morning? Frost on the same deck and a layer of ice on Darwin's water bowl (the one behind Daisy in the photo above). Darwin is scared to drink out of the bowl inside & when he's thirsty, he runs outside to his special bowl. Yeah, really convenient when it's frozen and I need to bring a kettle of hot water. Otoh, he's by far the messiest drinker of the 3 dogs. I swear only a 1/10 of what he slurps goes down his throat, so having him make the mess outside is much nicer than mopping up puddles off the laminate.....
