Yay! I love camping!
I like camping but I wish Mommy would stop torturing me with the camera.
Fortunately, Darwin was so distracted most of the time that he stopped noticing the camera - to the extent that I could do the "cookies on your head" trick.
Hmmmm? What? Cookies? What cookies?
I don't see any cookies. Dunno what you're talking about.
Nobody is looking at the cookies which look like stubs of devil horns on my head. NO - everyone is looking at your messy campground!
Yeah, ok, never mind the messy campground. This is what was distracting Darwin.

I'm a demented little Douglas Squirrel! I live to torment dogs in campgrounds!
I run just out of reach of their tie-outs!
Fun!
And when the squirrels finally left the campground, another invader moved in.

Yup. Here is our friendly mallard, walking right up to the bird dog.
OMG! I don't know what to do! I'm frozen!
Notice Amelia is keeping a tight grip on that leash! We finally had to go & shoo the duck out of the campsite so Darwin could put his brain back in his head. He had a great time this year. Last year he was a bit frantic and much too wired. This year he was excited & still very birdy, but also more settled and calm. He did have some fun flushing quail - turns out quail will fly a bit when a bird dog flushes them from the bush. Darwin had a blast showing me just what a setter is meant to do.

Do you mind telling me where that wasÉ (okay, that was supposed to be a question mark. I can never figure out what I have done to make that happen, and how to undo it)
Anyway, our dogs would expect it to be a day long swim and retrieve fest at a spot like that.
I am not a dog person, at all, but I think I am a little bit in love with Darwin! What a dog.
LOL!!! SQUIRREL! One of my friends got another friend of ours a T-shirt that says, "I'm not ADHD, I just can't... SQUIRREL!"
