But briefly yesterday, the sun came out over the southern part of the Lower Mainland.
Baby (whom I fostered for 13 mos in what seems like another lifetime) came up from the US for a photo shoot with TFL of Three Woofs and a Woo and Big Air Photography fame. You can get a sample of TFL's lovely pix of Baby on her site but meanwhile, I'll torment you with my instant Panasonic SOOC shots. If the subjects weren't so darned cute, it would be hopeless, but between the lighting and the awesomeness of the dogs, it's not eye-searingly bad.
After he finished doing his vogueing (which he apparently at times mistook to mean 'show everyone your LGD tendencies & also, could you really OVER play them! Go on! Really get into character, Baby!') both he & his patient person needed to decompress, & we headed out for a relaxing walk in a little secret place which is doggy paradise if you have a social dog with a recall & a bit like hell if you have a grumpy dog (Daisy) or a dog that runs away and possibly will not stop until he reaches Saskatchewan (Darwin) or possibly both (Baby). We were joined by Daisy's BFF Zyra (Zyra is perfect) and of course sweet Bear (really perfect except when he bites me on the butt) toddled along.
This was Bear's first BIG outing since his surgery and while I was a bit worried that a 2h+ walk would be too much for him, he enjoyed himself a lot and doesn't seem to be any worse for the wear.
Is this the way to Saskatchewan?
I am grumpy. I am. Don't let my smile fool you.
I am perfect. Really. Snark is so undervalued. I just know my rights. Also I have a lot of energy. And exuberance. And you people are SO SLOW. Anyway. Perfect: that's me.
I can't find Saskatchewan because of this stupid leash which you won't take off. And I've momentarily forgotten to be scared of the camera!
I'm black. He's white. I'll just lean against him a bit while I rest.
Literally, Bear at one point decided to lean against Baby. Like hey dude, I'm kinda tired so I'll juse lean against you, m'kay?
Cookies will make me feel all perky again! Give me a cookie or I'll bite you on the butt!
It was a wonderful day & now we're back to rain, rain, rain, wet dog smell, endless washing of towels and mopping up floors. Bleh. That vitamin D good mood stuff wears off fast.
The important bit is this:
If you're within driving distance of Vancouver, you have to have your dog photographed by TFL. Great person, great dogs, great pix. And she needs the money to pay Tweed's vet bills, and also to find Dexter's missing testicle and yanno, food, so she can continue to be The Food Lady. Don't have a dog? I'm sure she can do your cat. Or hamster. Or hairy boyfriend.....if he can catch a frisbee.
Most importantly, apparently when she schedules photoshoots, the SUN obeys and comes out & we all need some more of that sun.

Kinda neat to read about the same subject in two differnt blogs:)
All those little bunnies that keep popping up on your scrolling petfinder link are killing me! I want one so badly but Dexter says he will eat it if I get one :(
Just saw your comment on my blog. If you can get TFL to fence her property, I would be willing to drive up once a week for playtime (and thus good weather!) Keep working it :)
Hopping through from the blog hop. nice to meet you and love those pictures!
