We went yesterday to Bard on the Beach - a Vancouver tradition consisting of Shakespeare plays put on all summer in large, all weather tents, on a beach. Hence the name.
We decided on The Comedy of Errors and it was all that you would expect: farce, slapstick and bawdy rude humour. We all had a great time!
The festival has a little shop attached which is open during intermission & we picked up a few things, under the guise of 'homeschooling resources'. Hugo got a deck of playing cards with Shakespearean insults on each card (that page, by the way, loads up with an audio file of someone reading the insults. You've been warned!) . For Amelia I picked up a few Elizabethan fashion paper doll books from Dover. For serious history study, you understand.

Huzzah!
That sounds like some wonderful end of summer fun.
I'll have to keep an eye out for that card deck when we head to the Folger in DC next month. That should liven up sibling arguments a bit!
I love those paper dolls...
That was me, but the common box jumped ahead, argh...
Again. Ack. Me at Farm School.
