It's been floating around the web, making girlie bloggers happy (well, because really, it is kind of a girlie award). Unfortunately, it's been floating around with a grammatical error, which the bloggers, busy as we are and with low graphics skills, have been unable to fix.
I can't say I fixed it. I just got out my trusty editing pen.

Now the rules. They remind me vaguely of chain letters. You are supposed to link to the person who gave it to you (check!); post the graphic (check!); and pass it on to ten other bloggers. Don't break the chain! Plagues and pestilence and bad body odour will befall you!
Unfortunately, I can't follow the last instructions. Many blogs I read are too, well, bloody big and established to care about a butterfly award from a homeschooling nerd. A couple I had to scratch because I know for a fact they will not accept awards because they don't want to do the passing it on bit. And I've not been following blogs as much lately. I just scroll through the RSS feeds, and when I actually slowed down to check in detail just now, I realized a large number had shut down ages ago and I haven't noticed.
But, so as to not totally piss off the plague and pestilence flying spaghetti monster (who, I believe, mandates that chain letters and web blog awards be treated with reverence), I did come up with five:
Reluctant Memsahib
Just Another Dog Blog
Classic Adventures
Farm School
Road Schola
Many thanks Obi-Mom Kenobi! That was fun.

Love the edit. Seeing poor grammar on a daily basis is enough to make my skin prickle. I made the 'chain letter' comparison too when I saw it, but at least it didn't threaten to make my tires leak if I broke the chain. :-)
Thanks so much, Hornblower. What a wonderful surprise to come home to! And worth much more with the edit -- that truly makes my heart sing! Not to mention knowing I don't have to come up with ten (I don't even know if I remember how to sign into my Bloglines account...).
Oh, thank you, Hornblower! Proud to be the recipient of the new and improved award. Clever fix.
Glad I popped on this AM. It was a much needed respite from packing and a pleasant surprise. Now to go spread the love, though it may be a few days before I fully complete the task. I'm with you on the five versus ten. After moving and packing in the heat all day yesterday without a break, the curse of bad body odor has already befallen me. Bring on the plagues and pestilence!
Cheers!
Congratulations! I have only just found your wonderful blog. You are our next blog neighbour on the WTM list. I love your science pages - fantastic!
