Happy New Year!

Yes, I know, long time no write.

I was busy petitioning the world to amend the calendars to jump directly from November 12 to February 13. I know this is supposedly the 'most wonderful time of the year' but I don't like it much and could easily just skip it. I even offered myself up to any aliens who wanted to borrow me for a couple months. I don't think any took me up on it, though I am missing large chunks of my memory and I do have an all over achy feeling which would be easily explained by alien probes, so perhaps it did happen. I'll have to check the garden for any crop circles or flying saucer scorch marks.

I think the worst is over. Miss Amelia celebrated her 13th birthday and I'm now the mom of a teenager. Our December was a series of parties and dinners. Party for Amelia's friends; a week later, the family party; eight days later, traditional Christmas Eve dinner here; the following day, traditional Christmas Day dinner here. I even did the turkey thing, which was quite a feat as I actually don't like turkey and have never made one before. I discovered that convection roasting ovens really do kick butt and make lovely, tender, juicy turkeys - fast.

So.

I hope you're all well and the Christmas season was everything you had hoped for.

For the New Year, I wish you all health, the courage to dream and the tenacity to make your dreams reality.

This guy visited our feeder early this morning, lured by some home made suet mix. Hugo snapped the photo.

Have a fabulous 2008!!!
