So, our Conservative government brought down their budget and here are some interesting points:

-lowest tax rate increases to 15.5 per cent on July 1st, up from 15 per cent implemented under the Liberals.
-corporate surtax eliminated as of 2008; corporate tax rate drops to 19 per cent from 21 per cent by 2010.
-12 per cent small business tax rate drops to 11 per cent by 2009.

Ahhh. I see the priorieties here. So, the lowest tax rate, the rate charged to the poorest Canadians goes up. And the corporate rates? They go down.

Right. Seems fair to me.

Oh I get it! It's supposed to be an incentive for the poorest folks to start businesses & further the growth of our economy!
