One of the places I'd really like to visit.
India exists in my imagination as a Merchant/Ivory production (yes, think Passage to India. Crossed with Jewel in the Crown.)
Some notes of reality are added by Rohinton Mistry's Such a Long Journey and A Fine Balance, and by Vikram Seth's A Suitable Boy.
My father, who has been to India numerous times, including to what used to be known as Bombay, doesn't see the point. To him, India is this.
Which India exists in your mind? Which one will you be visiting, La Mai?

Hah...may I have all the Indias that are available? And please add fries with that.
Poverty doesn't scare me. Maybe Hansen's disease does.
Still will make for good memories and photos.
