Now Norma kicks ass

Now Norma Knits has a wonderful post on the Katrina situation.
These reports about civilians doing so much to help (one that Norma didn't mention was the BBC crew which reported they rescued several children who were in a house with their dead mother) are both heartwarming and shocking. Heartwarming because it's always good to hear about people doing something positive. Shocking because I thought the rescue crews, the army, the professionals were finally there and doing it. Why aren't they doing it?

And if you hear Norma giggling inappropriately? That's her emulating her president and his mama. Norma's right. They're setting such a great example, we should all follow. "Gosh, it's terrible - look these people are homeless (giggle). I mean, look, they're not wearing matched clothes (giggle). And he has no shoes (giggle). Terrible (giggle). And they smell(giggle). And I hear some of them died (giggle)"

Oh, man. She is so right on. I had to (giggle) over the (giggles) over the (giggle) bloopers made by Babs.

Thanks for the link, Hornblower.

Stayed up late to watch Jay Leno last night. My favorite joke -- "President Bush announced today we're sending a man to Mars. It's the head of FEMA."
