hello dizzy world

Just a quicky to say I am still here but the world is a bit spinny for me right now. I woke on Friday morning with awful dizzyness and lighteadedness to the point that standing or sitting for any length of time just made me wobble and start to fall over and feel like barfing. Lovely.

Dr says BPPV or maybe cervical vertigo (don't you think that 'cervical' referring to two very different parts of the body is really silly? This has nothing to do with my girly bits). I'll try physio next week & I've got some betahistine which seems to be making things better. I can sit and watch TV today! Yay, progress! Just finished Season 9 of ER and am starting in the first disc of Season 10.

The Congo episodes are great!

Still can't bend down & have to sit to pet the dogs because if I lean down I get woozy. They've been good nurses - yesterday, when I spent most of the day in bed, Daisy & Darwin took turns keeping me company in bed or on the floor by the bed. Even Bear came & shoved his big fat head on my pillow just to check if I was ok & mostly I think to tell me that the other people weren't feeding him enough, & would I please get up & feed him again? Not likely, Bear.

Hope I'm better soon. I've still got a couple weeks of schoolwork to plow through with the kids & I'd planned some fun outings too. I won't be driving though until I stop feeling like the world is a giant traffic circle.

It takes losing our sense of balance to make us realize we really cannot live any sort of normal life without it! I HATE when I get vertigo.

Balance is very important, in all things:)!
Hope you are better soon.
There's been some weird illnesses going around this Spring, or lack of. Can we blame it on the weather?
David is (hopefully) getting over mono and strep throat.

hey - thanks for the good wishes! They're working! I am starting to feel more like myself again. Meds & slow careful movement seem to be doing the trick for now.

I have BPPV.. not fun. Not fun at all. We should compare notes. My first go round had me on my back (with the room still spinning) for four and a half days.

Laura - 4.5 days?? OMFSM. I thought 24h was more than enough.
