That just doesn't look right, does it?
There's something wrong with strawberries in March anyway & I wouldn't want to calculate the carbon footprint of that fruit.
Have you noticed that strawberry producers have gotten smarter about their fruit? It used to look good but have no smell or flavour. Now, they've somehow added the smell. It was the smell that convinced Roo to buy this package. But I'm suspecting the smell is embedded in the plastic clamshell package because the fruit still didn't have much flavour. Nothing really beats the small local strawberries at the height of summer.
Busy again but a good busy. On Thursday I met with another dog trainer, this time my dime, my time, and my own dog was the subject. We had a great session; Daisy got to meet three new dogs, and she did it very well too. I got some new ideas and I appreciated the fresh approach of this trainer.
Hugo got a barfy, fever flu thing which knocked him down for 48 hours, but so far has spared the rest of us, which is a very, very good thing as we're getting ready for another installment of Manic RenovationsTM.
Yes, once again, Roo is tacking on some excess annual leave onto a long weekend, and we will be ripping holes in walls. I've made a nice long chart of the project plan, grossly underestimated how much time things will take, and we're set to go! Nothing like a list and some highlighter pens to make you feel like you've actually got a grip on things.
Supplies, including three huge windows, are filling up the garage and dust is already in the air, as we try to get a start on prepping some small things before Friday which is when the real big work begins.
We are also supposed to be installing a new floor during this project but we're running into a snag - actually getting the floor. We know what we want (which is a miracle in itself as we're usually in a fever of indecision and over-analyzing our choices) and whenever we call we're told it's coming/it will come/it's somewhere in a warehouse in Vancouver. At the end of the day, it's not actually HERE. This has been going on for some weeks so I'm beginning to suspect it's actually on ship in the Pacific. Maybe. It's possible it's still somewhere in a factory.
I was supposed to rip out the carpet & seal the subfloor this week in preparation for this new floor but now I'm not sure whether to do it or wait.
