Feeling Overwhelmed?

I just read this article Wait! Stop! It's All Too Much!

I came across it via author Alison Kent who recently decided to take a day off each week from the internet.

Go check out the article. At the end of it, there are some instructions and a video to watch. Try it. I won't spoil it here, but will post in the comments.

What about you? Are you feeling overwhelmed? How do you cope? And do you have internet free days?

Spoiler!!! Don't read until you've watched the video.......

It's a nifty little exercise.

I noticed there was some sort of altercation but did not see the gorilla until I watched it a second time. Made me wonder, what do we miss in our lives? What do we fail to see about our children when we're focused on other things - like chores and assignments and workbooks?

I seem to have internet free weeks lol. Your months off are very sane :)

My blog is always secondary to real life, mainly because I use my blog as a way of keeping tracks of links and things I want to remember.

And my email is much more manageable since we changed ISPs in the fall; I have the occasional dribble of spam, but nothing near what it used to be.

Probably the best thing for me has been not getting sucked into a board. They are wonderful communities, but just not for me right now with three young children and a farm.

I wanted to comment because I so appreciate your words of wisdom on the Van hs Yahoo group and I almost never comment there.

I find that I need to stay home at least two days a week or I feel just frazzled. I know as a homeschool I should be "home" but it rarely seems to work that day. I notice the kids are much more relaxed and happy on the weeks we're home a bit more.

I'm not sure about going internet free but I'm sure that would help too!
Thanks for the link!

I've been "internet free" here more than when I lived in the states. It started because my computer is slower than anything, but now it's more of a choice. I find I really get more done and feel less stressed. But somedays I simply have to see life outside of Sicily!
