Two weeks.
Existing computer status: barely alive.
May recover later this fall with mobo transplant, and perhaps new power supply, and if so, it will rise from the ashes as an "old spare computer in the basement". If it dies before the 2 weeks, Roo says he'll organize people to take turns and sit with me (a la Bertie Wooster's friend Boco, who once took a job in the city and after a few weeks suffered a breakdown and the chums from The Drones took it in turns to sit with him.....)
Backup disc status: still not found.
Hornblower's status: still doubting memory and sanity; aiming for zen-like acceptance but prone to attacking cupboards and shelves with desparate exclamations of 'maybe it's in here???!'
And yes, I did lose chunks of my writing.
*Oh, and if you want to learn about Saville Row, & about the difference between "bespoke" and "made to measure", go check out this blog, by an English tailor.
