Sniffles

Did I mention that Saturday's birthday party was partly held outside, at a spray park?
Did I mention that it was unseasonably cold?
Did I mention that it poured in a torrential Vancouver way, while the kids were outside?
Did I mention that I didn't dress the kids in sweaters and raincoats because I assumed we would not be doing the spray park on such a miserable day?
Did I mention that they got wet and very cold?

Well, it's all true.

And today I have two kids with runny noses and sore throats.

Yes, I know colds are caused by viruses and bacteria. But if you get overly cold, your body is so busy trying to keep warm that its defenses against viruses and bacteria are diminished. So, yes, you can catch a cold by getting cold.
